AKG – Arginine

Amino Profile:

A-AKG is an abbreviated form of the word “Arginine – Alpha – Ketogluterate”.  This product is a main ingredient in NO2, NOK2, XPAND, NOV, and Nitrix.  These products are referred to as “Hemodilator’s”.  They work by increasing levels of Nitric Oxide in your body.  Nitric Oxide is responsible for the dilation of your vascular system.  So, when it elevates, it thereby increases blood flow.  This already happens naturally in your body during training and is where the blood pump comes from.

Use in the Body:

While the more superficial effects are neat, from a functional standpoint, if you’ve got an increase in blood flow, you’ve got an increase in the amount of red-blood cells, nutrients, oxygen, basically everything your body needs for building muscle, being delivered to the needy muscle. Most people will experience some pretty outstanding strength gains as well as increased recovery that can lead to some really good lean mass gains to go along with the pumps.

The only type of product we wouldn’t recommend to stack this with is any type of fat burning agent as stimulants tend to constrict your vascular system. This is the exact opposite of what you would be trying to accomplish with an A-AKG product.  You can, however, stack virtually any other product with it for better results. Protein should go without saying. But also recommended to stack on top of it would be creatine, glutamine, and real food in slightly higher than normal dose.

Dosing & Possible Side Effects:

Following the label instructions for proper dosing; individuals who have a history of heart disease should consult with their physicians prior to using arginine-based supplements.
